Recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show the impact of inadequate support for behavioral health on older adults. The already high rate of suicide in people 75+–overwhelmingly, older men–is on the rise. Longstanding disparities in access to care mean Black and Hispanic older adults, who are at higher risk to develop mental illness such as depression, are disproportionately affected. Such a tragedy and desperately needs addressing

We all know someone feeling and suffering with depression, that had a really rough time during the pandemic months who needed the help of alcohol and or drugs and maybe even thought of suicide. Please let them know we are here for them.
